Ken Wolter
COO & Founder
Ken W. Wolter is the Founder and current COO of HM Manufacturing. As a mechanical engineer, Ken worked as the Assistant Chief Engineer for a stamping company in his earlier years, yet his passion was in designing and building Formula One race cars. While managing 700+ employees at the stamping company, he pursed racing on the weekends and began to design and create parts to make his cars more efficient. While he would travel from race to race people began to ask him about his custom parts and where they could find their own. Due to the interest people had for his home made products, Ken began to manufacture the parts out of his basement and sell them on the road. As demand grew for the custom gears, Ken decided in 1979 to set up shop in a 2,500 sq foot facility located in Schaumburg, IL and began producing timing belt pulleys and gears for the printing industry along with his original automotive products. As HM grew so did the product line which included custom, made to order parts, for packaging, aerospace, medical and food-beverage processing. Today we support the rapid shift towards automation across a variety of industries, including automotive and printing which inspired Ken to establish HM Manufacturing.
Currently, Ken is still engineering, designing and manufacturing tooling that continues to increase efficiency and effectiveness for projects of all sizes. The core values of HM express that no project is too big, nor too small to be done, and each part produced will be of the highest quality and accuracy. These principles are implemented throughout the company, and continue today as our standard. With the passion Ken has for creating and developing new products, his innovative mindset has allowed HM Manufacturing to expand and advance into a leading manufacturer of power transmission components. |
