We love a challenge.
For this project, our team took a customer-provided sample and reverse engineered it into a fully manufacturable component — balancing tight tolerances (within just a few thousandths), complex features, and heat treatment planning to make sure the final part performed exactly as intended. Projects like these are why we do what we do: solving machining challenges and turning “can this even be made?” into “when do you need it?” Got a challenging part that needs to be machined? A sample part with no drawing? A project others passed on? Send it our way — we’d love to take a look:

This piece is made of 6061-T6 aluminum, with a 72mm Bore for accepting a bearing. Upon completion of assembly, this will be the outermost layer of the gearbox, and has a 1/16-27 Tapered pipe thread with matching removable setscrew to allow application of grease or oil to the internal components of the gearbox. This intricate gear produced for the aerospace industry, has four recessed pockets in each one of the four windows, timed to a custom tapped linear pattern. To manufacture this gear, we utilized our CNC hobbing, CNC milling, CNC lathe, CNC grinding and lapping capabilities. On all projects big or small, complex or simple, we proudly offer our services from prototype to production. To achieve this design and quality, we utilized our CNC broaching machine and custom cutters. This gear was then drilled and taped for a M6 setscrew between the teeth to attach to a matting shaft. We proudly offer expedited and standard lead times for all orders, simple or complex, from prototype to production. |
